Netflix's 'Office Romance' Is Generic, Even With Lopez and Goldstein
How many times can Netflix release a movie called something like Office Romance or Workplace Friends or Meeting Room Vibes before you just stop clicking? The streamer has flooded its catalog with romantic comedies that sound like they were generated by an algorithm designed to bore people into submission. At a certain point the title should be your first warning.
Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein show up with real charisma and timing. They're funny actors. They're charming. None of it matters when the script gives them nothing to work with, when the conflicts feel lifted from a template, and when the third act resolution arrives exactly when you predicted it would during the opening scene. The movie hits every beat so predictably that you could probably mute it and still know what happens next.
Skip it. Go watch literally anything else, even if it's from another streaming service. Your time is finite. Netflix has plenty of mediocre content already. You don't need to add another one to your watch history just because two decent actors attached their names to it.
